Settlement Week is coming! Refer your cases now

There’s still time to refer cases to this fall’s Settlement Week event, which will be Oct. 20-24.

The twice-yearly event features a week-long intensive schedule of mediation sessions with magistrates and private mediators working to reach settlements in a variety of cases.

Created in 2021, Settlement Week helps parties reach agreements. Mediators are available to handle divorce cases, custody cases and more.

This year, along with tradition mediation, Settlement Week includes neutral evaluation. In neutral evaluation, parties with a dispute before the court present their cases to a neutral third party or panel. The evaluators share their impressions about the strengths and weaknesses of each case. The neutral third party may then assist the parties in exploring possible solutions to their dispute. The process is not mediation, but is meant to give parties an assessment of their cases.
