Judge George W. Leach was elected to the bench in 2020 for a full term beginning January 2021. Prior to being elected to the bench, Judge Leach has also worked as private and court appointed counsel representing adults, minors, and parents in criminal and juvenile and family matters since 2001.

Even before being elected Judge, he worked with Judges and Magistrates to promote artwork in courtrooms and court buildings. Judge Leach served as President Emeritus of the Ohio Art League, an organization that encourages and cultivates artistic talent in the Ohio arts community. Judge Leach also helped to launch the Juvenile Auto Theft Diversion Program, a program to help divert first-time, nonviolent offenders away from repeat offenses and into community involvement. This pilot program has been used as a framework to build the coming felony diversion program. He is on the advisory board for Pathways Programs, a program to help individuals recently released from incarceration reintegrate to society, with additional support for mental health issues or substance abuse disorders. Judge Leach continues to be deeply involved in his community.
