Substance Abuse

For court-involved youth with a history of substance use, referrals are made to community-based agencies that offer evidence-based programming focused on supporting healthy lifestyle choices. Services may include individual and family counseling, as well as intensive outpatient treatment. All interventions are customized to meet the unique needs of each youth and their family.

In some cases, youth may also be referred to the Court’s Specialty Docket Program, including the Recovery Court Docket. This program provides a structured, treatment-oriented approach for youth struggling with substance use and co-occurring behavioral health issues. It combines judicial oversight with comprehensive support services to promote long-term recovery and reduce recidivism.
