Programs
The Juvenile Intervention Center provides a variety of structured and evidence-based programming in which the youth obtain and effectively apply the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and manage their emotions, set and achieve positive goals, build and maintain positive relationships, and learn to how to make responsible decisions.
Recreation provides opportunity for large muscle exercise activities daily. A variety of activities are offered to promote health and fitness while educating youth on the importance of physical exercise.
Religious services are provided to youth on a voluntary basis. Youth have the option to attend weekly chapel or request individual counseling with the Chaplain.
Library time is provided to all youth and they are encouraged to check out books to read in their housing units.
The Juvenile Intervention Center is in collaboration with the Columbus City Schools District in which youth are enrolled in an individualized instruction program. The school calendar in the Intervention Center is the same as the Columbus City Schools District calendar. The Columbus City Schools team will help youth transition back to their home school to ensure success.
