Beginning in 2026 Franklin County Domestic Relations and Juvenile Court will increase two filing fees.
The court’s judges have voted to increase the fee to file domestic cases from $30 to $55 and to increase the fee to file juvenile cases from $42 to $67. There will be no change to filing fees for traffic cases.
This is the first increase in filing fees for Franklin County Domestic Relations and Juvenile Court since 2006.
The money collected through these fees goes to the court’s special projects fund, which is used to support the Self-Represented Resource Center. The center, on the fourth floor of the courthouse at 373 S. High Street, Columbus, is a legal center for low-income individuals who do not have an attorney. The attorneys at the Self-Represented Resource Center assist with preparing legal paperwork.
