Mental Health
Court-involved youth may receive a range of services tailored to their mental and behavioral health needs. These may include assessments, therapy, and counseling that address issues such as trauma, anger management, substance use, depression, and other conditions that may impact overall functioning and compliance with court requirements.
The Court partners with two contracted agencies to conduct court-ordered competency evaluations. These assessments help determine a youth’s ability to stand trial, participate in court proceedings, and engage in other related legal matters. Additionally, assessments may be used to evaluate risks such as violence, suicide, or reoffending. They also provide insights into cognitive functioning, intelligence, and other psychological factors to support appropriate treatment planning and service referrals.
