ALERT: Courthouse security changes
Published on September 24, 2025
Beginning next week, visitors to Franklin County Domestic Relations and Juvenile Court may notice some security changes at the courthouse.
Starting Monday, Sept. 29, only employees will be allowed past the security checkpoint and metal detectors before 8 a.m. and after 5 p.m. each day.
This means that visitors who arrive at the courthouse at 373 S. High Street, Columbus, before 8 a.m. will have to wait in the building lobby. At 8 a.m., visitors will be allowed to proceed through the security checkpoint and head to their destination in the courthouse.
Visitors who arrive after 5 p.m. also will not be allowed beyond the lobby of the courthouse.
These changes were instituted to improve safety and security for everyone in the courthouse.
