With a staff of 25, the Court Stenographers Office maintains a busy court schedule for the Domestic Relations Division and the Juvenile Branch of the Common Pleas Court. The primary duty of the Stenographers Office is to make and preserve the record made within each courtroom for the Court’s Judges and Magistrates.
The specific areas of specialty within the Stenographers Office consist of Juvenile Traffic, Domestic and Juvenile Child Support, Abuse/Neglect/Dependency, delinquency and unruly cases.
For most of the hearings, stenographers produce the decisions and entries needed by the Court containing the Court’s orders.
The Stenographers Office also prepares transcripts of the Domestic and Juvenile proceedings if needed by a party or the Court for purposes of objection or appeal.
