Mental Health Services

Court-involved youth may receive assessments, therapy, counseling, and more based on their mental health needs. Specific services may focus on trauma, anger management, substance abuse, depression, and other conditions that are perceived to be impacting behavioral functioning, including Court compliance.

The Court contracts with two agencies to complete court-ordered competency assessments to determine a youth’s aptitude to stand trial, participate in court hearings, or other related criminal/court actions. Assessments may be used to determine risk of violent tendencies, suicide, recidivism, or other risks. These assessments are also used to evaluate intelligence, cognition, and other psychological needs which assists in determining treatment referrals.
